Being a Personal Assistant
Personal Assistants operate from a variety of different environments and encompass a wide range of roles. Whether working from a private residence or within a family office, Personal Assistants for hire are willing to manage the daily scheduling, errand running, and ad hoc projects for and on behalf of a principal directly. They may work independently or as part of a larger team from personal assistant recruitment agencies. In some cases, the Personal Assistant may also report to a higher level domestic manager such as a House Manager or Chief of Staff, while others may report directly to the principal. Much like a dealer in live blackjack, they are expected to remain calm under pressure, manage responsibilities efficiently, and maintain professionalism in high-stakes situations. They are typically vetted and hired upon referral from a company like Hire Society or a private personal assistant agency in Los Angeles or New York City.
